December Labor History Events in Baltimore
Hi folks,
To give all our readers a break from my dissertation, I thought I'd let everyone know about a couple of labor history events that are going on in Baltimore in December (courtesy of Bill Barry, Director of Labor Studies at CCBC):
Monday, December 8--6:15 pm--the Baltimore holiday party at The Baltimore Museum of Industry, featuring a discussion of the 1877 railroad strike, with a showing of the documentary Army of Starvation about the strike that took place at Camden Yards.
Saturday, December 13--10 am--a tour of the Irish railroad workers shrine, and a description of immigrant workers and the B & O railroad in the 1870’s, hosted by Tom Ward, followed by lunch at Hollins Market. Meet in front of the B & O Museum.
Both events are free and open to the public. You can contact Bill Barry at (443) 840-3563 for more info.
